Whenever it's an Olympic year, people want to host their own Olympian-style parties, complete with themed Olympics Party Supplies in their own home to feel closer to the celebrations. But whether it's that time again, or you just feel like making your friends and family, literally, jump through some hoops, it's a great party to throw at any time of year.* *Start off with your invitations, asking guests to come to the Olympic Village dressed appropriately for the part they chose to RSVP for: judge, referee, spectator or athlete. Once you know who is coming and for what reason, assign them to wear a certain colored shirt so that everyone is aware of what role they are playing. Decorations should be simple, since most of the party will focus on your Olympic Games. Flags from around the world, the Olympic rings, colored balloons, activity equipment crucial to an athlete's performance (running shoes for instance), and ID cards for everyone are crucial to carry out the theme adequately. Your Olympic themed games, of course, are the center of the show. Get creative with your ideas, and make sure they are more fun than serious to keep partygoers entertained. Throw the Watermelon (from team member to team member), Yo-Yo Competitions (to see who has the most skill), Wings Relay (who can eat the most wings in the shortest amount of time), or Sudden Death Dancing (whose left standing at the end of the night?) are all ideas to get your creative juices flowing.
