St. Patrick's Day party planning should have some focus on Patrick, Ireland's patron saint. At 16, Patrick was forced into slavery. He spent six years herding sheep until he finally escaped. He eventually returned to Ireland as a missionary. Patrick used the leaves of a shamrock to explain the meaning of Trinity (the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit) and converted the Irish to Christianity.
